What Can I Expect During My First Visit to a Chiropractor?

On your first visit you will be asked to complete a full medical history questionnaire and "new patient" paperwork. You will then consult with Dr Tury . This consultation is your opportunity to express your health concerns and expectations, and to ask any questions you may have pertaining to the matter. It is also for Dr Tury to express his role in your health care and discuss your health prognosis. A physical exam will then be performed which may include orthopedic testing, thermography, electrical muscle testing, pulse wave profile (check how your body is handling stress) , reflex assessments, muscle testing, and a specific Chiropractic evaluation. In some cases x-rays may be necessary to determine an exact diagnosis. X-rays will be done at our office. Then, depending on your pain intensity Dr Tury may give you a spinal adjustment and/or begin physical therapy to try to give you some temporary relief. At the end of your first visit Dr Tury will schedule you for a report of xray and exam findings on your next visit. We recommend that you bring your spouse or loved one to the report so they can better understand your condition.
