Neuropathy Treatments

Dr. Robert S. Tury has served Greensboro, NC, and the surrounding communities for over 40 years providing chiropractic treatment for various symptoms, including neuropathy. The goal of our treatments is to eliminate the cause of symptoms as well as providing safe relief.

Once patients acquire neuropathy symptoms, they often think they must learn to live with them, which is not true. Alternative treatments show significant success in treating many disorders, neuropathy included. Dr. Tury will perform a chiropractic neurological exam to diagnose the condition.

Hope for Neuropathy Sufferers
Dr. Tury explains three neuropathy treatments he provides to his patients: spinal adjustments, acupuncture, and cold laser treatments.

Spinal Adjustments
Spinal adjustments are the foundation for chiropractic medicine. A misaligned vertebrae starts to cause other problems, such as a pinched nerve radiating  pain, numbness, and tingling in the extremities.

Dr. Tury has you lay on a table either in a prone position. Then, he runs his fingers and hands down your spine. If he notices a vertebra not in alignment, he gently adjusts you into alignment with his hands and instruments, thus relieving pressure on the nerve running through the spine.

Initial treatment involves close together treatments to relieve pain and strengthen the spine. After results are attained monthly wellness appointments are often recommended to keep the spine aligned.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture promotes natural healing, thus improving the function of body systems. The doctor inserts needles into specific points, sometimes introducing heat or electrical stimulation. These needles unblock obstructions in the body's energy pathways and reestablish a regular flow of energy.

Cold Laser
This treatment uses wavelengths of light to heal specific tissue areas in an accelerated process for chronic or acute conditions through a hand-held device that looks like a flashlight. The cold laser reduces tissue swelling, reduces spasms, and improves functionality.

The doctor holds the device over the area for approximately 30 seconds or more while the light passes through the three layers of skin to the affected area. These treatments are effective for many conditions.

Much success is seen through this treatment on inflammatory conditions, carpal tunnel, neck and shoulder injuries, muscles, joints, neuropathy, and more.
